You can add a newsletter subscription form for your Facebook public pages (the form does not work on private profile pages).
To create a form that you can use for this purpose, follow these steps.
- Log into your console
- In the left-side navigation, select Settings > SUBSCRIPTION FORM
- Scroll down on the page and check the CREATE A FORM FOR FACEBOOK option
- Click on CREATE
- Click on Preview to see what information will be displayed on the form. Edit the HTML if needed. If you just want to edit the text that will be displayed, you will find it in the HTML code.
- Select (CTRL+A) and copy (CTRL+C) the code displayed in the HTML CODE area
- Go to your public page where you want to insert the subscription form. For information on how to create a page on Facebook, visit: http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php
- At the top of the page, in the Search field, enter "Static FBML" and click to locate that page
- In the top-left area of the page, under the profile's image of the page that you just located, click on Add to my Page. If you don't see this link, enter this URL in the browser address field: http://www.facebook.com/add.php?api_key=4949752878&pages, select the page that you wish to add the application to from the drop-down menu, and click on Add Static FBML
- Return to your page and click on the Edit Page button in the top-right. Select Apps in the left-side navigation, and then locate Static FBML in the list of Apps and click on Go To App.
- In the new window, insert some text in the "Box Title" (e.g. "Sign up for our newsletter": this is used as the link to your signup from in your Facebook page) and paste the HTML of the form that you copied from your console into the large text area. Then, click on "Save Changes".
- Return to your page by click on the page name at the top
- The sign up form should now be listed in the left-side navigation.
